STORY

This story is Inspired by true events. RAD MARTINEZ is a brawler from a dusty small town in New Mexico who fought his way to become a collegiate All American wrestler, empowering him to leave his dismal stomping grounds.

However, when Rad's Grandmother back home becomes ill and passes away, He alone, is the only one willing to care for his disabled father, honoring a promise he gave his Grandmother years earlier.

As Rad returns to a life he worked so hard to escape, he faces the harsh reality of caring for dad 24 hours a day, 7 days a week while at the same time striving to become a champion MMA fighter to settle some old family debts.

THE VISION FOR THE FEATURE FILM/SERIES

Our vision for the film is to portray a poetic human story about the struggle of finding true significance. In essence, can Rad achieve his dreams by being both humbly committed to family and at the same time be an ambitious cage fighter? Through the lens of a gripping sports film and a compelling character drama we want to inspire and entertain audiences. We’re going to go deep inside the underground world of MMA and contrast it with the beauty of a young man fighting to achieve his dreams, care for his disabled father, and redeem his family. Set in the harsh environment of New Mexico landscapes and steel cages, thematically we hope to paint the picture of a modern CINDERELLA MAN, with the small town community feel of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.

We are currently seeking executive producing partners to fund the feature film / series. Angel Studios has expressed written interest in distributing the film.
